About the Event
In this one day workshop using zinc plates and copper sulphate participants will extend their knowledge of the etching process. This course is for those with some experience of the basics and will cover printing with multiple plates, chine colle, stencils and sugar lift. Some materials will be provided. Suitable for those with some experience.
NB An Etchings Basic workshop is scheduled for Sunday 12th May where participants will learn how to prepare zinc plate, apply a ground and print their image using the intaglio presses.
Etching is a rich medium where an image is scratched, drawn or painted onto a metal plate and the image etched into the plate. A range of marks can be created and, after etching, ink is applied to the plate. A print is created by placing dampened paper onto the plate and passing both through a press.
