Felting Workshop in Newcastle
Explore wet felting techniques and create a small bowl or other 3D piece. Some experience preferred. All materials provided.

About the Event
If you'd like to explore your creative side and learn how to create your own felt bowl then this workshops is for you.In this small group workshop we will explore wet felting with all materials provided for you to create a small bowl or other similar object.
You'll learn how to lay out the wool tops, decorate your piece, then felt and full it. By the end of the class you will have a beautiful felt bowl.
Some experience is useful but not essential.
You felt piece will be damp when you leave so a plastic bag to put it in would be useful.
Three hour face to face class at The Arts Emporium in New Lambton, all materials and tools, tea and coffee.

All classes will be run in accordance with NSW guidelines in place at the time - https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/freedoms-for-fully-vaccinated-people. Therefore, attendees are required to be double vaccinated to attend.
About your tutor:
Amanda Donohue studied printmaking at Sydney College of the Arts graduating with a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Honours). She also has a Graduate certificate in Cross Disciplinary Art & Design from the College of Fine Arts (UNSW) where she studied textiles. Amanda has been a practicing artist for over twenty years, has been teaching for about 10 years in the Hunter area and exhibits regularly. See more about Amanda at www.amandadonohue.org.
