Make Space, The Station, Corner Scott St, Watt St, Newcastle NSW 2300, Australia
About the Event
Learn how to design, cut and print patterns or designs into a lino block and make beautiful artworks. If all you know about lino is the stuff on the floor then this class will be a real eye opener, and great fun.
Everything is provided on the day so there's no need to buy materials or equipment. You will take home your lino and can use it to carry on printing at home.
We'll cover different carving techniques, talk about paper registration and editioning and should have time to experiment with layering and colours.
By the end of the workshop you will have printed your lino on a range of papers for framing, to make greetings cards, give as presents or swap with others in the class.
This class is perfect for beginners, or maybe those who have done a little bit of relief printing (technical term!).
Price per person $40 which includes:
Face to face workshop at MakeSpace in The Station, Newcastle
Use of all inks and tools
Quality printmaking paper
Lino square (12cm square)
If you want to order a kit to continue the fun at home you can do this when you book. Kits cost $50 and contain lino (2 x 10cm), Japanese cutting tools, roller and relief printing ink.
