About the Event

Have you ever wanted to learn the ancient craft of wet felting wool? This wonderful and versatile craft can be used to create both beautiful and functional objects.

In this full day workshop, you'll learn new skills and take away your own unique felt bowl.

To begin the day you'll create a piece of felt that can be used to make a wall hanging, cushion cover, journal cover, coasters, needle-case, small bag or other similar items. This step will teach the principles of wet felting ie how to lay out the wool tops, decorate your piece, then felt and full it.

Then after a short lunch break you'll progress and make a small bowl using a resist felting technique.

By the end of the class everyone will have created a piece of felt about 20cm square and a small bowl. This workshop is a great opportunity to enjoy handmade processes and have fun learning how to continue these traditional crafts.

Price $110 per person, includes:

5 hour face to face class at Nobbys Lighthouse (including 30 minute lunch break) , all materials and tools, tea and coffee.

Be prepared:

You'll need to bring your lunch, a mug for a drink and be happy to walk UP to the lighthouse from the carpark - allow 15 minutes at least  for this. As the lighthouse site is exposed it can be wet and windy. If the weather is predicted to be too awful I'll postpone the day before to a day that suits everyone - hopefully this won't happen.

COVID:

All classes will be run in accordance with NSW guidelines in place at the time.
