Extend your knowledge of the zinc plate etching process with multiple plate printing
Time & Location
22 Mar 2020, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Newcastle Printmakers Workshop, 27 Popran Rd, Adamstown NSW 2303, Australia
About the Event
In this one day workshop using zinc plates and copper sulphate participants will be able to cover the basics and then extend their knowledge by exploring multi plate printing. This technique allows you to build a more complex image with a range of colors. Some materials will be provided but you will need to bring two zinc plates that are the same size (one can have an image already etched into it).
Etching is a rich medium where an image is scratched, drawn or painted onto a metal plate and the image etched into the plate. A range of marks can be created and, after etching, ink is applied to the plate. A print is created by placing dampened paper onto the plate and passing both through a press.
